History of Stone Development Group

Founded by Jerry Stone, Stone Development Group, Inc., got its start in 1982 in Schiller Park, Illinois. Focused exclusively on residential remodeling projects in the beginning, the company enjoyed modest growth. The core competency of the business at the time was siding, soffits and fascia work. Later the focus changed to mainly kitchen and bathroom remodels with custom counter tops and cabinetry being a specialty of the company. Serving the greater Chicago land area the organization maintained a steady and moderately growing presence. Stone Development Group was well regarded in the Chicago land area as a remodelor of some the homes in the older neighborhoods. With quality being the cornerstone of our company, many customers chose Stone Development Group to handle the detailed work on old Victorian style homes. Customer service, quality and attention to detail is what excited our customers. Due to this the company mainly survived on customer referrals.

The organization was taken over by the youngest son, John Stone, in 1999. His vision and foresight was the catalyst for the change in direction. In 2003, the organization completed its transition to focus solely on retail, restaurant and hospitality commercial projects. The move marked a change for the organization and set the stage for a period of extreme growth. The organization experienced double digit growth for the next 3 years. This extreme growth prompted the need for more oversight and strategy development within the organization. Starting in early 2007, the oldest son, Jaron Stone, joined the organization.

Both John and Jaron Stone believe that in order to maintain a satisfied customer base, they must maintain the same dedication to customer service, quality and attention to detail that the company was originally founded on.
